Rishon offers an extensive Adult Learning opportunities, including a variety of daytime, evening, weekday, and weekend educational programs taught by our clergy, scholars, guest speakers, or our own members in shared learning experiences. â€‹

Regular Engagement with clergy

Programs include Nosh and Drosh (Torah study with bagels and coffee) and Learning for Life, three weekly sessions, Fall and Spring, Tuesdays at 7:30 pm.

ADULT B'NEI MITZVOT

You're Never Too Old!

A journey of 15-18 months to connect with your Jewish identity, to learn the skills necessary to fully participate in Shabbat services, to study the Torah and analyze the parshats, and to learn basic Hebrew to allow you to read the siddur and the Torah. Taught by the Rabbi and our Hebrew tutor.

DISTINGUISHED SPEAKER BREAKFAST

Learn from scholars

This premier program attracts a large audience of TBR members and non-members, and is partially funded by the Fred Emert Memorial Fund with Patron support.

 

Each Fall and Spring, a renowned scholar presents on a topic of Jewish interest, followed by an extensive Q&A session. A lavish breakfast is included.

READER'S CIRCLE

Jewish-themed book club

Are you looking for a social and stimulating learning experience that you can enjoy from the comfort of your home? Every month, the Readers' Circle Book Club discusses a fiction or nonfiction book of Jewish interest. Even if you haven't read the book, please join us to discuss the broader themes it raises. We meet on the third Thursday of the month at 7 pm over Zoom.

LUNCH AND LEARN

A nourishing experience

In an informal setting, speakers present topics of general and Jewish interest. Bring your own pareve or dairy lunch--we provide beverages and dessert! Lunch and Learn meets on Wednesdays at 12:15 pm in the TBR Small Ballroom, 5 times each Fall and Spring,
