Temple Beth Rishon is an independent, liberal, egalitarian Jewish congregation serving North West Bergen County. We welcome all who want to participate in a vibrant Jewish community, including individuals/families from diverse Jewish backgrounds and interfaith families.
Our passion for Jewish learning is evident in our flourishing Preschool, Religious school, Hebrew high school and adult education programs. Innovative social and cultural programming is ongoing for all youth and adults. Worship services blend traditional and contemporary approaches to prayer while music enriches our services and enhances our spiritual experience. Our congregation is committed to social action, supporting Israel, and building community relations. We offer meaningful opportunities for Jewish living, learning and leadership. Our services are conducted by Rabbi Dr. Kenneth Emert and Cantor Ilan Mamber. Friday night Shabbat services begin at 8:00pm and are followed by an Oneg Shabbat. A family service is held on the first Friday of each month, beginning at 7:00pm. A bi-monthly 'nosh and drash' is held at 9:00am prior to Shabbat morning services, led by Rabbi Sandy Olshansky, our Rabbi/Educator.
Our Sabbath morning service begins at 10:00am (except when noted) followed by a Kiddush. In addition, all major holidays are observed throughout the year. Minyan services at the home of the bereaved can be arranged under the temple's auspices.
