Founded in 1975, Temple Beth Rishon is a warm and vibrant community that welcomes individuals and families from diverse Jewish backgrounds. We embrace congregants with a strong spiritual Judaic background as well as those who feel more of a cultural connection: those who were born Jewish, those who choose to be Jewish, and those who are part of an interfaith family. We are an independent and egalitarian community that appeals to people who identify with either the Conservative or the Reform movements.
Temple Beth Rishon (TBR) is committed to providing our members of all ages with a wide range of religious, educational, cultural, and social experiences.
Our participatory, high energy worship services blend both traditional and contemporary approaches to prayer while spirited vocal and instrumental music enrich our services and enhance the worship experience.
A passion for Jewish learning is evident in our flourishing preschool, religious school, and adult education programs. Our highly motivated and charismatic preschool and religious school directors have created programs which are stimulating and participatory while emphasizing Jewish ethics and traditions. Our newly renovated state-of-the-art education wing provides the perfect environment for successful learning. A wide variety of programs for adult members offer meaningful opportunities for Jewish living, life-long learning, thoughtful discussion and leadership.
We enjoy observing holidays together at Temple Beth Rishon, not only during services but with sociable family oriented celebrations ranging from festival meals to candle lighting ceremonies to carnivals to national Israeli holidays.
Our Social Action and Caring Committees provide members with active opportunities for Tikkun Olam throughout the community such as ongoing food and clothing drives or projects specifically targeting community needs.
Having fun together brings our temple community even closer with activities planned throughout the year ranging from musical concerts to theater trips to family barbeques to fundraising gala evenings and more!
Building relationships within the Temple Beth Rishon community is the glue which ensures the strength and longevity of our temple. TBR is the place where your children will form their first bonds to Jewish tradition and where you will create lifelong friendships. Whether you spend time with us three days each year or three hundred days a year, you will feel this connection!
